About the Position

The Worship Pastor serves as the primary leader and visionary for all aspects of worship and production at the Church. This role is responsible for cultivating meaningful, Christ-centered worship responses that align with the mission and direction of the Church. The Worship Pastor will shepherd and develop worship and production teams while fostering quality, unity, and spiritual authenticity in all services and events.

This leader is someone who leads people before they lead songs, builds teams instead of doing everything themselves, values both spiritual depth and professionalism, and thinks like a pastor while executing like a director.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Worship Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide leadership for all weekend worship services by equipping worship leaders, musicians, and production volunteers to create engaging, well-organized worship gatherings
  • Lead worship regularly while empowering other leaders to grow in confidence and effectiveness
  • Model spiritual maturity, humility, and a heart of worship for the team and congregation

Planning & Creative Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan worship services that align with sermon series, vision, and the church calendar
  • Participate in creative planning for special services, seasonal gatherings, and church events
  • Ensure worship elements including music, transitions, media, and production are thoughtfully prepared and executed
  • Develop service flow that fosters meaningful and distraction-free worship environments

Worship & Music Ministry Development

  • Oversee all aspects of the worship ministry, including vocalists, musicians, and worship leaders
  • Mentor team members in both musical skill and spiritual growth
  • Cultivate a culture of worship, unity, servant leadership, and high standards
  • Manage song selection, charts, tracks, and worship resources to ensure preparedness and consistency across services

Production & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee all production elements including audio, video, lighting, and livestream
  • Recruit and train production volunteers and team leaders
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and supports high-quality moments of worship
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate creative media elements that enhance worship and communication

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Build and maintain a healthy, growing worship and production team culture
  • Create clear pathways for onboarding and training new volunteers
  • Provide coaching, encouragement, accountability, and consistent communication regarding schedules, service plans, and expectations
  • Ensure rehearsals are organized, purposeful, and productive
  • Maintain strong coordination between worship, production, and church leadership while fostering a positive, solution-oriented environment

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • A mature follower of Jesus with a genuine heart for worship and people
  • Proven ability to lead worship with spiritual authenticity and strong musical leadership
  • Gifted worship leader and capable musician with spiritual maturity and a heart for ministry
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead both creative and technical teams effectively
  • A collaborative spirit and alignment with the vision and leadership of the church
  • Experience in worship ministry and production leadership strongly preferred

Time Commitment & Expectations

  • Full-time position with a flexible schedule based on ministry needs
  • Regular involvement in weekend services through leading and overseeing worship and production
  • Weekly rehearsals, planning meetings, preparation time, and team development
  • Participation in special services, events, and seasonal gatherings

  • Production systems are improved and running smoothly
