Worship Pastor/Leader

The New Albany Worship Pastor serves as the primary worship leader for the New Albany Campus. This role combines pastoral ministry with worship leadership, providing spiritual direction, musical leadership, and team development. The Worship Pastor leads weekly worship services, disciples’ volunteers, collaborates with campus leadership, and creates engaging, Christ-centered worship environments. This role is campus-focused and does not carry multi-campus oversight.

Worship Leadership (Primary- New Albany Campus)

• Plan, lead, and shepherd weekly worship services at the New Albany campus.
• Assist in the arrangement of worship music for the campus.
• Lead rehearsals, providing musical direction for vocalists and instrumentalists.
• Collaborate with pastoral staff to ensure worship elements support the message and service vision.
• Collaborate with the Worship Arts Director regarding Graceland Worship (songs, team, songwriting, production)
• Coordinate with tech teams to ensure cohesive worship experience (sound, lighting, media).

Pastoral Ministry & Shepherding

• Provide spiritual leadership to the worship team through prayer, discipleship, and relational care.
• Model biblical character and shepherd volunteers with compassion and integrity.
• Offer pastoral care, prayer, and support to congregants when needed.
• Participate in campus pastoral rhythms, meetings, and ministry efforts.

Volunteer Development & Team Building

• Recruit, equip, and empower volunteers for worship ministry roles.
• Mentor musicians and vocalists spiritually and musically.
• Create a healthy, unified culture among worship team members.
• Schedule worship volunteers and maintain Planning Center service plans.

Service Planning & Collaboration

• Attend weekly/ regular service planning meetings.
• Contribute creative and theological input for services and special events.
• Coordinate special services (holidays, nights of worship, all campus gatherings, etc.) alongside campus leadership.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated musical proficiency (vocals and/or instruments).
• Experience leading worship in a church setting.
• Strong pastoral heart with a shepherding mindset.
• Organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to recruit, lead, and care for volunteers.
• Strong understanding of worship theology and Scripture.
• Commitment to the mission, vision, and doctrine of Graceland Church.

Spiritual Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the biblical qualifications of pastoral leadership outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, modeling integrity, self-control, humility, and above reproach character
• Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ
• Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
• Explain the church’s religious beliefs and practices to the public and give a reason for the hope he/she has (1 Peter 3:15) when asked.
• Pray with volunteers who are in need.
• Provide religious resources and assistance to those who inquire.
