About the Newnan, GA Community

Newnan is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and serve in ministry! Located about 35 miles southwest of Atlanta, Newnan offers the best of both worlds. We enjoy the warmth, hospitality, and sense of community that make a Southern town special, while having convenient access to everything a major metropolitan area offers.

Known as the “City of Homes,” Newnan has a beautiful historic downtown filled with locally owned restaurants, shops, and a picturesque courthouse square. Our community has a rich history, beautiful neighborhoods, excellent recreational opportunities, and a growing economy. Coweta County offers strong educational opportunities, quality healthcare, parks, trails, and plenty of activities for families. We’re also conveniently located near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, making travel especially accessible.

One of the things we love most about Newnan is its people. There is a genuine sense of community here. People value relationships, families put down roots, and neighbors still look out for one another. At the same time, Newnan and Coweta County are growing, bringing new families, greater diversity, and tremendous opportunities for the gospel.

First Baptist Church is located right in the heart of historic downtown Newnan. Our church has been part of this community since 1828, and we believe some of our most exciting days of ministry are still ahead of us. We love this city, we love its people, and we want our next Worship Pastor and his family to fall in love with Newnan just as much as we have. This is a place where you can build a wonderful life, develop lasting friendships, raise a family, and make a meaningful difference for the Kingdom of God.
